Hello everyone,

I have applied for my wifes visa..

I submitted my I-864 about 60 days ago. Just yesterday i got an email from NVC saying my Part 5 question 7 and 8 are wrong and i need to fix it.

So my questions is..

I have joint sponsorship for my wifes visa which is my mother and father. We all live in the same house. My mother and father have filled out their own I-864A and i filled out I-864 for my self.

So when i turned in my I-864 two months ago, i answered my questions like this for part 5 household size..

Part 5

1) Enter the number you entered on line 7 of Part 3.... [1]

2) Yourself... [1]

3) If you are currently married, enter "1" for your spouse.... [0]

4) If you have dependent children, enter the number here... [0]

5) If you have any other dependents, enter the number here... [0]

6) If you have sponsored any other persons on an I-864 or I-864 EZ who are now lawful permanent residents, enter the number here... [0]

7) OPTIONAL: If you have siblings, parents, or adult children with the same principal residence who are combining their income with yours by submitting Form I-864A, enter the number here... [0]
8) Add together lines 1-7 and enter the number here. Household Size: [2]
----------------------------------------------------------------
Now, just yesterday NVC has sent me a email stating that...
In Part 5. Sponsor's Household Size, please correct the following...
[x] Item 7. You must account for all siblings, parents, or adult children with the same principle residence who are
combining their income with yours by submitting Form I-864A. This number must also match the total number of
household members listed in Part 6, Items 6.a. through 9.c.
[x] Item 8. The household size must equal the sum of items 1 through 7.
Soo do they want me to answer like this?

8) Add together lines 1-7 and enter the number here. Household Size: [4]
...
So am i supposed to put [2] in question 7 because of my mother and father joint sponsor? we live in the same house together..
Also do i need to include my sister that has no job and is younger then 21 and she is not combining her income (which she doesn't have) with me and parents?
Will this incident delay another 60 days now for my wife's visa?
Please help me out, i have called NVC and they said they can't help me answer. I have looked around on the web and could not find a situation like mine..
Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.

Okay how you should have done this.

YOU = I-864

Parent who makes more money = I-864

Parent who makes less money = I-864a

Your parents MUST claim your sister on their I-864 paperwork because she's under 21 and lives at home. You do not.

Because you sent I-864A for your parents instead of the proper way I just mentioned, then you counted your household wrong. I suggest redoing the forms appropriately.

Your parents household count will be 4.

Dad

Mom

Sister

Immigrant

Your household count will be 2.

You

Immigrant

You can yes, but unless you're a dependent on your parent's tax return you did not need to combine your incomes with theirs. That is not the way we normally recommend to do it on VJ but if that's your choice, best of luck to you.
