DS160 question

Called NVC tonight, they assigned our case number today. From what I've read I can now start working on the DS160 form. My question is - can I submit this form before I know that London has received our case? Or would it cause confusion? Would it be better to wait until they have received it? I've read somewhere that although technically you could schedule your medical once you have your case # it's a good idea to wait until London embassy have your case otherwise they get the results sent through from Knightsbridge and they don't have any case to match them up to. I wondered whether the same applied to the DS160 or whether it's something I can do and get out of my hair.

Just trying to keep a step ahead so we don't have to wait any longer than we have to.

Thanks in advance

The prescribed plan is to wait until London has your file and is ready for you before jumping into the next step...medical or applying for the visa. Some do it early. Your choice if you want to bend the rules or not.

Have you done everything else? Police certificate, immunizations, I-134 in hand from fiancé, passport photos. Those things should be in place to be prepared.
