Hi all!
So I received my certificate of naturalization but have not signed it yet. I know I should sign it on a special line (above Complete and True signature of holder). Also, I saw that applicants who didn't change their name have signatures on the photo while those who changed their name (like myself) do not have a signature there. So I'm confused now if I should put a second signature near the photo too :help: Before the ceremony one of the officers was talking about signatures and I think he said that we should put signatures above the photo but I am not sure now if I heard him correctly ...Could anyone please clarify this for me? :help:

Hi all!

So I received my certificate of naturalization but have not signed it yet. I know I should sign it on a special line (above Complete and True signature of holder). Also, I saw that applicants who didn't change their name have signatures on the photo while those who changed their name (like myself) do not have a signature there. People who don't change their names have their certificates printed with the photo signatures from their biometrics. But if you change your name, that old signature is no longer valid, so you need to sign it with your new name.

Last week a name change applicant posted on here that at her ceremony she was asked to sign along the side of the photo as well as on the signature line (using her new signature) you can look for the post, or maybe she'll see this and reply. Of you can't find it, I would do what seems logical, sign your certificate in both places (along the side of the photo and on the signature line) with your new name.

If you google naturalization certificate and look at the images, you'll see what it's supposed to look like.

Here's a we page by a lady who has a photo of her certificate:

Thank you for a quick reply, JimmyHou. I cannot find the post you referred too, the only post I found does not seem to contain the information I need  Google shows certificates signed alongsode the photo, so I will probably do the same...Or maybe I'll try to call my local uscis office and ask for clarification...
