Hi,

I am so confused with the information on the websites, emails from sydneyiv@state.gov and the information that I found on these forums. To be honest, information given by forum members are so much direct and informative than the US consulate!

My appointment for the k1 visa is in 2 weeks. I have received a packet 3 checklist via email and NO other documents via post. I have been reading previous posts dating back to January of this year and have read that people have sent their packets away to the consulate in Sydney. Has the process changed since, as I have never sent anything away anywhere since the start of the petition. My fiancé sent away the petition in states and that was it, waited and was only told last week that there has been a scheduled appointment already made in 2 weeks time.

It seems too easy of a process for me, gather my documents, have medical examination done and bring everything with me to the visa interview. Is this correct? Also where can I get the photos done to their specifics?

Thanks in advance,

Cheers,

Sammie

Yes the process has changed recently and the websites (including this one and the US Embassy website) have not been updated. Just follow the instructions that you get via email from the Sydney IV section, and if you have any questions post here, and people who have recently gone through the process will help you. Unfortunately it's been a while since i did the process, so I can't help with specifics!

There is a website you can get your photos done yourself to the correct specifications, I think it's this one: https://www.epassportphoto.com/

Also I hope your fiance received the NOA2 (the I-129f approval notice) in the mail. You are going to need a copy of that down the road.

As the previous poster said, yep, just follow the instructions in the email.

As far as your passport pictures, my fiance went to Australia Post to have them done.

Good luck. :)
