Okay so I filed for my AOS and there were some complications with my work permit application which I sent with it, so I had to resubmit it a few weeks ago. Last week my AOS was approved (woo!) but this week I received a letter asking me to attend a biometrics appointment. I already went to a biometrics appointment last year, so why am I being asked to attend another? Is this biometrics appointment for my work permit? And, if so, I would have thought they could just use my biometrics from my previous appointment..

I'm so confused because I was never told to expect another biometrics appointment, so any light that could be shed on the issue would be greatly appreciated!

If you get your greencard in the mail, then you don't need EAD.

EAD has biometrics and maybe the one with your AOS didn't get associated with your EAD, because it was following behind. I would just wait on the greencard and forget trying to sort it out this week.

You timeline doesn't show you had biometrics for AOS. did you?

Yeah I had it back in December, I've just not kept my timeline up to date. I'll call them tomorrow and tell them my AOS was approved and ask if I still need to go to the biometrics appointment for my EAD (I'm sure they'll say no at this point).
