After five and a half months of waiting I checked in on the status of our petition again today and found this...

Post Decision Activity
On August 28, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

What I am wondering now is exactly how long it will be before anything else happens? I ask because my fiance is currently staying with me in NYC and her return flight to London is booked for mid November. I know it takes 4-6 weeks for the packet to arrive in England at the consulate and she has already taken care of the forms so her folks can just mail them in for us once they receive the packet at her house. At this point how long would you guys guess it would be until she physically needs to appear in London for interview/medical? Should we change her return flight or would mid November be fine? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

well for me personally my petition was approved on july 31st by the 18th of august my petition had reached the london embassy. On the 27th of august i received my letter from the embassy. My medical is scheduled for the 2nd of september so in the space of a month i am ready for my interview.

once the petition is approved if it is not completed within 4 months then you will need to send additional proof that you still intend to marry and that you are in a relationship. So it is up to you wether on not to fly back early. Personally i would stay out there and just enjoy the time you are spending together you will still be able to complete the process.
