OP: Please note that this is for the Almaty Consulate and not the Embassy in Astana. I can tell you that the Consulate in Almaty requires a very good reason to be admitted and that goes for USC as well. Accompanying your fiancée for their interview is not a good enough reason so you will not be admitted. All K-1 visa interviews happen on Tuesdays only. Almaty was the Embassy so some of the more experienced people are still there as they did not want to move to Astana. If you fiancée meets the residency requirements to have their interview in Kazakhstan I would vote for Almaty over Astana, but that is just me.

FYI - The Astana Consulate does not process K-1 Visas so the interview and Visa will be conducted in Almaty if appropriate!
