Before I schedule anything do I need to wait for my MCN to be in READY status on the CEAC tracker or no? I asked other people and they said I still have to wait for that to be in READY stat

Nope..now that you have your case number you can schedule your interview . Congrats ,,, that is what we are waiting for .

No need to wait. However, it is best to pick an interview date that is 3-4 weeks from the time you were given your MCN to allow time for your physical files to arrive at the US Embassy from NVC. You won't be interviewed without them.

So pay the visa fee & schedule your interview (pick a date that is 3-4 weeks from now). Around the time of your scheduled interview, call the embassy and make sure your files have been received. If you wait too long before you schedule the interview, chances are you won't get an interview slot soon. Slots get taken real fast.
