IR1 and domicile

Hello

I submitted our petition i130 in may., we have since received NOA 1 and NOA 2. I have paid the AoS fee and I am getting everything ready for that to be lodged next.

One question is that I intend to reestablish domicile in the USA and I'll show supporting information for that. I would like to know what you have sent and if it was accepted.

I moved to Australia when I was 17 with my Mon so I haven't registered to vote.I also did not have a drivers licence when we left USA.

I have done the following:

> booked my dog with jet pets to fly in January 2015, with the date to be confirmed. I've paid a $400 deposit for this.

> my husband wants to take his car to USA so we have a quote for that.

>I have emailed a real estate agent in USA who said they can assist closer to the date with finding a rental.

I don't want to rent anything yet as we do not want to leave Australia until January and that would be a waste of money. I have never voted as I was a minor when we left. I don't have kids to Enrol in school.we don't have cars or property in the USA as we have always lived in Australia...

Oh, I do have a back account In USA with bank of America which I opened Arlinda year and half ago on our last visit there.

So yes, any insight on your own situation and how this was handled would be appreciated. I'm just worried as to how strict they are and our chances. If we lived closer I'd be happy to fly over and sort some of this there...but the flights are a bit dear.

I also just noticed a few typos (original post was typed on my phone which loves to auto correct things). I am unable to change them, so here is what it should say:

- I moved to Australia when I was 17 with my Mom, not 'Mon'.

- Oh, I do have a Bank account In USA with bank of America which I opened around a year and half ago on our last visit there.

Our situation is similar... Re-establishing domicile rather than proof of existing domicile. A couple of things I sent:

- Statement that I had lodged my tax in the US - proof was last 3 years returns

- Letter from my aunt and uncle stating we could live with them indefinitely until we find our own place

- Emails with real estate agent over there enquiring about rentals

- Quote for storage of our goods here along with shipping them to the US

- Contract for sale of our house here in Aus

- Emails with accountant here discussing status for tax purposes (resident/non-resident)

- Bank account statements from the US

All was accepted by NVC, hoping the consulate will also accept it at the interview.

Edit: I should note, we opted to send a combination of documents showing that I am re-establishing domicile in the US as much as "cutting ties" with Aus. Hope that helps.
