Hello,

My husband is about to file a I-130 on my behalf and I want to complete the police clearance certificate requirements as soon as I can.

I am originally from Mumbai, spent 3 years in the US as a student, then 3 years in Bangalore, and within the last month only I have shifted back to Mumbai.

To obtain my police clearance certificates for India (from the passport office and the district police), should I get from Bangalore or Mumbai?

Since I have only recently moved from Bangalore back to Mumbai, should I get certificates from both Mumbai and Bangalore, just in case they ask?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Priya

You need to obtain it from your current city, Mumbai.. and PCC is from passport office.. they issue it after local police gives clearance.. Local police will probably ask you how long you have been in Mumbai.. answer of one month may make them seek Bangalore police opinion but decision will be that of Mumbai one..
