NVC Delay information

HI all,

if you are like me you waited 3 months already and you may still not even have your DS-261 reviewed.

I called the NVC a few days ago and spoke to what I assume was some sort of manager or supervisor.

he told me they are being flooded with approved cases from the USCIS.

so, it would seem that the severe backlog they had in 2012 and 2013 is being cleared, however this is flooding the NVC.

for me, from NOA1 to NOA2 was 3 weeks. I told him this and he said yea they are really clearing the backlog.

he told me they are now working 10 1/2 hour shifts Monday through Saturday to try and handle the surge.

he noticed my DS-261 was not reviewed and he was able to review it for me over the phone.

He told me they are working hard to try and get the waiting times down to 30 days and hopefully the 60 day processing time now is only temporary.

Hi - when you say he was able to review it over the phone, does that mean that he was able to approve it over the phone and generate the IV invoice? How did you get connected to someone who you assume was a manager or supervisor? Did you ask for one?

Yes. he approved it over the phone and it generated my IV invoice.

He was the one who picked up the call. it was luck of the draw.

I would say try asking for a supervisor when you call.
