nbi or police clearance? what exactly what we need?

hello guys, i'm quit confuse what exactly what we need nbi clearance or police clearance for submitting documents? because i know some people still need to get a local police clearance to every municipality they leave, is it the nbi clearance is not enough? unless u leave more than a year outside philippines u need a police clearance from the host country, but here in the philippines as local do we still need it?

If you never lived outside of Phil for 6 months or more since turning 16, get NBI. No need for local clearance.

a lot of people here says its not needed and proved its also true..CO didnt ask for it when we were interviewed, just the new NBI . but i still got my local police clearance if in case CO asks for it... there's nothin wrong in bringing extra papers...so its up to you...

They don't ask for local police clearance they only want your NBI. Police clearance is only if u work or live abroad

Follow the embassy instructions letter, it makes no mention of a local police certificate.

6. NBI CLEARANCE. Applicants aged 16 years and older must have a valid Record Clearance for

Travel Abroad Purposes from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Clearances should be in

the applicant’s current name, birth certificate name, maiden name and any aliases or nicknames used,

including different spellings you have used of those names. An official letter of explanation from

the NBI is required for any notation of “No criminal record” or "No pending case”. For

immigration purposes, an NBI clearance is valid for one (1) year from the date it was issued. The

7. OTHER COUNTRY POLICE CERTIFICATES. Applicants aged 16 years and older must also

present police certificates from other countries where they have lived for one (1) year or more after

reaching the age of 16. As with NBI clearances, foreign police certificates should be obtained in any

maiden names, aliases or nicknames used while in the country in question, including different

spellings you have used of those names. Country-specific information on how to secure police

thanks Hank_ for the inputs, at least i know from someone who experienced it.. i ask this because some of agent/attorney still asking for local police clearance to be provided, now its enlighten me what really i needed...
