I'm a US citizen. My Korean wife and I got married here in the US last month and immediately filed our i-130.

Can I go live with her in Korea for a year while we're waiting for her CR-1? Would that raise any red flags or delay the process for her?

Thanks!

You and your wife would need to look into Korea's requirements for your legal presence there. From the US side, though, of course you can go live with your wife.

As the previous poster mentioned, for the I-864 you will show US domicile or intent to reestablish US domicile by the time your wife enters the US. Some more information, including a template for a letter you would send, can be found in this post.

Another issue is showing that you can support your household at 125% of the poverty line of its size. This is not as straightforward for those of us living abroad with our spouses, as our jobs do not necessarily count toward this amount; any income that will not be continuing when we return to the States is not included. Depending on what your situation will be, you might want to look into a joint sponsor and/or using assets. Information on these can be found in the I-864 instructions or with a search of these boards.
