we have not goteen mnl number as of yet... is it ok to do the police clearance now?

Police clearance from what country? Some countries take months

Her police clearance from Philippines. it is the only country she has lived,,,, I was wondering if it was okay to do now or does embassy want one closer to interview date.

i think you should wait a bit more. some (like in marikina) is only valid for 3months. i dont know with other cities/municipalities.

NBI tho is good for a year. so if ever she still don't have it, better file it now.

You need to read the embassy instructions letter, a few times.

Police certificate is only requested by the embassy for a person 16 years of age or older that have lived in a foreign country for 6 months or more... Philippines isn't a foreign country.

What is needed is an NBI.

Everything required is listed in the embassy instructions letter... read it slowly and more then once.

Embassy most times does not want the documents to be more then 6 months old.

The NBI may be good for one year, but most times the embassy does not want it to be more than 6 months old.

Has you petition been approved (received the NOA2) ? If yes then it is fine to start gathering documents. Now that things are drifting back towards normally processing times NVC should have your MNL # within a month after receiving your NOA2.
