Hi,

We just received Packet 3.5 from the embassy in Islamabad. But I'm confused over what we're supposed to send back to them before the interview and what my fiancee is supposed to take to the interview (but not send to them).

First they say, "The next step is to gather together your documents and send them by courier to the Immigrant Visa Unit. Please follow the instructions below:"

So it would seem everything they mention after that - we're supposed to send now. But, then one of the items is the birth certificate. They say this about that:

"Original Birth Certificate with English translation and one photocopy."

So, are we supposed to send the original birth certificate with a photocopy? Or is she supposed to send a photocopy and take the original with her to the interview?

Also, are we supposed to send evidence of a continuing relationship with this package? Or does she just take that to the interview?

Thanks for any help you can give!

Okay, thanks so much Tania&Ali! So, I guess it's safe to send her original birth certificate, huh? We were afraid it might get lost while en route.

Yup, exactly what Tania&Ali said.

I was uneasy about sending in my birth certificate too, but that's what they require, so no options there.

Good luck with your process!

Yep, you're right Bandaria, we just found that out. She was very uneasy about that - but we had to do it. She mailed it today from AmEx. I was going to ask if you had any idea how long it takes to get there, but I see from your Signature info that it doesn't take that long! Great news! And good luck at your interview!
