The 'system crash' vs increased processing times

I just spoke with an agent at NVC, got really lucky and rang through on the 2nd call in!

The agent seemed informed and was helpful as usual. She advised that the system glitch that was experienced, or is currently still being worked on, has NOTHING to do with the increased processing times we are all waiting for. The increased processing times, which for EVERYONE can be assumed to go from 30 business days to 60 total days (including holidays and weekends) is due solely to the massive increase in applications at this time.

The system glitch that has been widely discussed and reported here is only causing delays with the issuance of the visa once you have completed the NVC / Interview process and you are approved.

Yeah, we found out this morning that it is effecting issuing green cards too. We paid the immigrant fee on June 3rd but they did not "receive" it until July 31st. So instead of it taking about 30 days for the green card, it is now looking about 90 days.
