The Senate candidates might be worried about November, but it's pretty clear the white house isn't.

It's cuz the preznit suffers from some twisted disassociative disorder, where the only important thing in the universe is him and his awesome legacy.

let's make more laws when we don't enforce the ones already in place.

Hey, the Dems & media have been giving him a pass on this type of nonsense for years. When they stop, it'll stop.

There's interesting speculation that should the preznit decree amnesty for millions of illegals, the states would be allowed under the Constitution to defend their own borders. I could see this happening. Of course it's better to avoid this type of Constitutional crisis, but since O'bama seems hell-bent on forcing the issue...

I can imagine governors — Rick Perry, perhaps — simply taking matters into their own hands. They’d have a better argument for self-help there under the Constitution — Article I sec. 10′s authorization to go to war when actually invaded, or in such danger as will admit of no delay — and the federal government’s default on its duty under the Constitution to protect them from invasion. There’s a lot of room for constitutional self-help there, and realistically what’s Obama going to do about it?

The Senate won't even consider the House Bill. Dingy Harry will never let it see the light of day as it stands.

As it stands, Dingy Harry accomplished what Boehner failed to get done. That is, he got bi-partisan immigration reform legislation passed in his chamber of Congress.

While it may be a waste of time to send it to the Senate where it wont pass, it would be good to get each Senators vote on the bill as a matter of record. Come November people might like to have that information when entering the voting booth. Especially when it's pretty clear by poll numbers that a large majority of voters are against this policy.

Would be good to bring the bi-partisan immigration reform bill that passed the Senate more than a year ago with more than 2/3 of the Senate votes up for a vote in the House, no? The we'd have a record of where the US Representatives stand on the issue. Of course, House leadership failed to let that vote happen.

There is a record of where the Senators stand on immigration. 68 of them voted in support of comprehensive immigration reform and 32 did vote against it. That's pretty close to the support/opposition among the general population where a little over 2/3 are in favor and about 1/3 opposed.

Boehner blocked the vote because it contained no measures for border security. Outrageous, eh?

Boehner would be wrong. And it's not me saying so, but more than a dozen of his Republican colleagues in the US Senate. Both the Senators from AZ, for example. Representing one of the southern border states, they should have some authority on the issue of border security. More so than the Speaker who hails from Ohio.

Outrageous, eh?
