Hi,

Quick question (that could be silly) on when the DV2015 first round starts in the September bulletin to be released on August 8th.

So are we looking for a high first month for our categories ye? and does that high number mean that the quota for our region is going to be high for the year? i.e. it will be consistent across every bulletin for each month?

E.g. say I am EU40,500 and if the first bulletin for September has an allocation of up to say EU9000 then I would already be getting confident that my chances of an interview are alot better. Or is this not the case?

Thanks

Not really. People have tried to find this pattern for past years and it doesn't always work, sometimes low numbers at the start speed up dramatically or high numbers at the start slow down a lot. It seems their initial numbers are based on some combination of the return rates of DS forms and recent experiences re no-show and refusal rates, but then this gets updated and adjusted with new stats on these as the fiscal year goes on. So for example DV2014, judging by earlier months you would have expected a continued decent increase in EU numbers from Aug to Sep but there was no increase at all. When I did DV my region started off pretty slowly but then had some big jumps later on.

I personally think, DV2015 will be similar to DV2013, both did not have Bangladesh. 2013 had 16K for Asia and it went current in Sept. So, I think we might reach 16K in 2015 for Asia. Not sure about Europe though.
