Thank you all for the warm wishes everyone.

No we are not same sex. in order to show that you able to support you foriegn fiancee financialy you can send in your pay slips, TAX forms of the most recent year( very important), to make things more better you can always put your 3 months bank statements, your savings and many other things that can show that you are able to support your fiance.

Pardon me if I am intruding, but are you a same-sex couple? I was wondering if this would be an issue especially in a conservative country like the UAE.

Also, what kind of documentation did they request regarding financials? Both of us live here and I am afraid that the fact I am not living and employed in the US (as the petitioner) might be an issue.

Hi, the consular officer should be american and not from UAE, I can understand your fear though. By now all consulate officers should have received the proper training on how to deal with same sex couples after Section 3 of DOMA was repealed. If you want to petition your fiance though I think you need your last 3 years income tax returns. Do you work in the UAE then?

Thanks for the reply. I was sure that it won't be a problem but my partner was concerned about this. Yes I am currently filing for my taxes for the first time to specifically deal with this.

Yes I currently live and work here. My partner and I obviously live together here.

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. How did you hear back from NVC? We received our NOA2 (not as a hard copy) and waiting to receive some sort of confirmation that our application has been received by NVC. We received an online NOA2 on June 25.

All priase for God :) We got our visa last Sunday (29/06) and received passport back on (02/07) yahoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo :dancing::dancing:

the End of one journey and the begining of new life :)

The interview was quite easy i was stressing alot for it but at the end when i heard the words that visa has is approved i started thinking woww :) all stress was relieved ;) I have posted a detailed review on about my interview in my timeline for other member's reference :)

i will be flying to start our new life (L) Any suggestion about POE will be higly appreciated.

Paper journey has almost ended (pending POE)...but the lifelong "real journey" will begin with the spouse. :thumbs:
