I have always travelled with United Airlines. I like that they have the Economy Plus seats which is free for MileagePlus members, because it costs the same economy price but i get more legroom which is good for long flights (IMO). Not sure about other airlines, but their on-demand movies are free.

I'm looking at airfares now for my parents and I see that PAL has the cheapest price i've seen going to San Francisco or Los Angeles.

And no i have not heard of Eva air.

PAL is horrendous. They are cheap but the cheapness comes at a cost: Almost always late, inedible food, dirty old planes. If you have the money, get a different airline.

Candy flew PAL once. ONCE. Get my drift?

If you're flying coach, IMHO, choose the airlines wit the shortest flight. Regardless of aircraft, service, livery, etc, all seats in coach are extremely uncomfortable and your flight from the PI will be a long one as it is. The sooner it is over, the better off you are...

 Glad to know AI422. No wonder why they're too cheap. I know about their "delayed" reputation in the Philippines and was hoping it's different with International flights.

I would definitely agree with this one. When Michael my fiancee came to the US on his C1/D Visa to go to work on the cruise ship the PAL plane broke down right before take off, the flight was canceled for a whole day, and then the next day almost didn't take off. Not something I would ever take. Not worth a life, no offense to the local airline, I wish it was better :)

I'm assuming based on your profile you are trying to go to JFK. Some of the ones I flew with and can recommend: Cathay, Asiana, Korean, JAL, ANA. In econ, Korean among the above carriers has the biggest legroom (on their A380's) while both JAL & ANA has the shortest. Food is okay on both Asiana & Korean unless you really like bibimbap. I'm biased towards Cathay as they have dimsum for breakfast.

A lot of it is subjective and will depend on what's important for you. If you don't care, then go with what's the cheapest option and/or the most convenient schedule.

I haven't personally flown EVA but the feedback I hear from people I know has been pretty good. Taipei also has the Hello Kitty gate if you are a fan. EVA actually has several Hello Kitty planes but I don't believe those go to JFK nor MNL.

Delta and Korean airlines are both great. They're fast and the service and the food are 5 star. I don't like eva air long lay over and not that great food. :)

I'm to be found on a Delta trans-ocean flight at least once a month and while the food/wine in business is fairly good, I wouldn't say it comes close to warranting 5-star status, unless the rating scale is like 1-50 with 50 being the top end. Glad you enjoyed it though.

I enjoy both Delta and Korean service, though the Delta flights transit PI to USA in less time.

I flew PAL from Dubai to PI once and you couldn't pay me to fly with them turds again.
