Hey everyone. Just wanted to verify a few things as we put together the packet for the I-485. She arrived here in the States with very little problem (on the fiance vias), has been here for about a month, and we just got married last Thursday! Thanks to this board, it's been an amazingly smooth process.

So we are now needing to get her status changed, get her the ability to work, and also find out when she can travel out of the country.

We just wanted to confirm a few things as we do this and maybe get people's thoughts on all of this.

We are following this link as far as all we need for the I-485 packet, which appears to be very in-depth:

http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos

We haven't been able to find anywhere that says the address we should send it to. As a result, I called USCIS and it was an adventure. As is the norm, they just read things to me, and I wasn't able to get much help. So, first, can anyone confirm the address that they told me to send it to?:

USCIS

PO BOX 805887

Chicago, IL 60680-4120

We understand that if we pay the I-485 fee of $985 and the Biometrics fee of $85 ($1070 total), then that will cover everything, including the I-765, and the I-131. But correct me if I'm mistaken on that.

A big reason I'm reluctant to trust what the lady told me was she insisted that I needed to also apply for the I-130 and pay the fee for that. I explained we already did the I-129F, but she wouldn't back down on saying we needed the I-130. Am I missing something??

Anyway, any confirmation on the list we are using above in the link, the address that we should send it to, and anything else that we may need to know would be awesome.

Thanks!

Hi there! You have 2 options of where to mail your AOS packet, depending on your delivery service of choice: http://www.uscis.gov/i-485-addresses

$ 1070 is correct. The fees for I-765 and I-131 are waived when applied with AOS.

No, you don't need to file I-130. Sometimes, they hire contract employees who are not well-trained. I-130 is only needed if the AOS applicant is adjusting from visitor visas, etc, but NOT K-1.

You should use FedEx for a peace of mind with signature and faster update. USPS sometimes gives you stress over their older tracking system.

And yes you don't need I-130, in your package, remember to include copy of I-129F approval notice. Good luck with your process.
