VJ Members,

What things/tasks do/did you make your husband, wife, fiancee do/did in their home country prior to migrating to the U.S.?

For me, while waiting for the process to finish, I had my wife do following:

  • Take a five session driving lessons at a Driving School in Manila Philippines. Not Stick Shift just automatic type of car.
  • Prepare for Career, Licensing requirements. Since my wife is a Registered Nurse, I had her take NCLEX Review Lessons at a review School in Manila.
  • Take vocational type courses that are of value in the US: sewing, hari dressing, haircut, Computer Skills

What tasks had you make your spouse do?

Once your wife finds employment as a RN, she'll have no time to sew or those other vocations -- she'll make enough money to pay others for that.
