OK so I need feedback. what reasons would a spousal petition be denied? I've finally sent the application to petition for my husband who lives in the Dominican rep., we've been married 18 months. today I received our first NOA of course just saying were being processed. I know now they will do a background check on me, I've never had any criminal trouble, not even a parking ticket, but I do have bad credit and a debt with a bank. will this affect our case? and also, I think I forgot a past address on the app, will that cause problems also?? I've asked my consultants of course, and he said were fine, but I'd really appreciate answers from y'all, being as were all on the same road. thanks!!

Hi welcome to the journey!!! I would strongly suggest you read the reviews for the Dominican consulate. Also gather as much evidence as you can like cell phone bills, skype conversations, text messages, emails etc because for DR you are a fraud until proven innocent! lol!!! Other than that you should be fine! Good luck...

Tell me who don't have bad credit! But i think you should be OK. you will have many more papers to fill out so if you like you can always call them and let them know you made a mistake. But like many people don't remember all the address they have stayed. Being marry for 18 months is a good thing for you. So now you will have to start getting all your papers together and if you have time learn from this site. many people will help you out.

Your credit and debts will not interfere with this process in any way. Welcome to the journey pack your patience!! Great thing about your case is that you will have been married for more then 24 months so when your spouse enters you will have permanent green card and not have to adjust status.

I don't.

My husband doesn't.

Some people have fabulous credit.

I worked with a guy who had a credit score of 851. He had a 0% $30000.00 credit card in his back pocket. He only worked because he was bored.

Your credit or debt will not affect the petition or visa. What will affect it is the ability of you to support your husband (the affidavit of support) so if you don't make 125% of the poverty guidelines as per the I-864p, I suggest finding a joint sponsor.
