I recieved the NOA1 by email on the 22nd May and the hardcopy in the post yesterday, i.e., 27th of May. But when I check teh case status on the USCIS website, it says

"Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283."

Is this normal?? Does it really take this long for the case to appear in the online records? Or should I be calling them and alerting them to this. A bit worried now. Please advise.

I've been having the same problem and have just read another thread - it seems it is a common problem at the moment. Someone called the number and was told to wait 30-45 days for it to show. I would quote the link but I'm not too sure what I'm doing yet. If I master it, I'll link it so that you can see the thread....

I mailed my Petition packet on 12 May and it took about 2 weeks to get the NOA1.
However my Question is why the USCIS site, where you check status, says that the Reciept # on my NOA1 is 'invalid or cannot be found'.

Anyone have any experiences like this? I am trying to be patient, but it is hard!:-)

Yes!! I'm having the same problem!!! I called and they have my receipt number on file... Asked the Rep as to why I can't access my file on line and she said to give it 30-45 days!!! for it to show... However I see ppl here that go on the next day and they can see their case! Very confused

Yes,you will not see anything currently what's going on with your case on USCIS TSC site, cause they have some problems with updating our cases there....If you have an email from them, then don't worry, they have your case already, but for some time you will not see anything online! We just need to wait untill they fix the problems with updating!
