Things have possibly changed for 2007.

I priority-mailed the I-129F packet to the Nebraska Service Center (from Michigan), but the check was stamped at the California Service Center. To confuse matters even more, the receipt information shows that our paperwork is being processed as "I129 PETITION FOR A NONIMMIGRANT WORKER."

Yikes!

Has anyone experienced similar discrepancies after submitting a new petition? This isn't the kind of stuff you like to see after spending weeks preparing documents and forms. I know that I can read. I hope the people at USCIS can read, too.

All Nebraska and Texas service center I-129F petitions are automatically forwarded to California - this is normal procedure and your NOA1 and 2 will come from CSC. That's why there are no I-129F processing dates shown for NSC or TSC. Perhaps it was just a typo on the receipt but I would simply call the USCIS information number to be sure that's all it was.

I don't want to worry anyone working (or about to work) with the NSC. Aside from the unexpected re-routing to the CSC--which KitKat1 says is normal--the problem was simply a typo in the case number, which I pulled from the cleared check.
