Hi,

I don't know if I'm blind or dumb, but I am looking for information regarding the fees associated with my k1 visa. I have seen the first fee that must be sent with the I-129F petition, but I haven't been able to find the other fees. I'm not sure if this is relevant but I live in Montreal.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

The fee to be sent with the I-129F is $340 http://www.uscis.gov/i-129f

There will be more fees throughout the process such as medical exam, visa fee, etc. The medical fee will vary, it was about 180 euros in Greece. The visa fee is $240 and adjustment of status is $1070.

We are also going through the Montreal Consulate. Besides the $340 to file, you will also need to pay $300 for the medical and a $240 visa fee before you can schedule your interview. Also, any other costs you will incur if you need to obtain a long form birth certificate, getting passport photos, the police certificate and travel costs to and from your interview.

Not to mention the $1070 for AOS after you are married :)

Thank you Abby

Oops I had forgotten about the fee for AOS. Just getting the process started... so much to think about! But your timeline just made me super hopeful. You see and hear so many complaints about the long wait, but your waiting time was pretty good. I heard Montreal was slow for interviews but it doesn't seem so bad, hopefully they keep the same pace for another few months lol! I'm excited can't wait.

You're welcome :)

I was worried about Montreal being slow as well, but I have been pleased so far. K1 interviews are being scheduled for 4-6 weeks after packet 4 currently....which makes me happy because I like ample time to prepare. Good luck on your journey!
