can one just go to the original (from nvc) interview after rescheduling online

Went to a earlier interview (rescheduled via online) last week only to be turned away because the physical file was delayed. Now that the physical file has showed up. Can one just show up at the interview date set by the NVC(which happens to be next week)? or does one need to schedule another appointment using the callcenter/online? I am getting conflicting answers from the embassy that's why I am querying the forum to see if anyone has experienced this before. Thanks.

If NVC did you scheduling you were not supposed to schedule an alternate interview date, immigrant visas are all scheduled by NVC at USEM. The only exception has been for victims from Yolanda that got expedites. If you are not a Yolanda expedite you can not schedule your own interview, NVC has to do it.

You are not the first I have seen here on VJ that tried schedule a different appointment day only to be turned away by the embassy. That person was told to return on their scheduled interview date that NVC had setup.

No. I didn't request Yolanda expedite.

Would you happen to know if they were entertained on their scheduled interview date that NVC had setup? The embassy personnel on site says yes. When I called, they said no and I have to schedule another appointment via the online/call center. The former answer obviously is what I want to believe :)

I tried searching for similar old threads but can't seem to find one that has a member coming back and saying they were interviewed on the original date. Thanks again.

The person that tried setting up a new appointment online went back to the embassy on the date that NVC had scheduled and did their interview.

Hank I have a question after looking at the ceac website. I received an 'in transit' note but can you translate/interpret the information at the end of this message? We are K1 and she does live in an affected area of Yolanda, but not sure what this means. post-179144-0-69281100-1400377001_thumb.jpgpost-179144-0-69281100-1400377001_thumb.jpg

I couldn't get the photo to open, but being your fiancee has been affected by Yolanda once your file reached the embassy I would call regarding the appointment as they may have openings set aside for those people, instead of doing the normal scheduling online... just on the off chance they have reserved slots.

I got the pic to open but it was too small to view the print.

Sorry for the quality. Here's what the message said: "Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center." I'll call once it reaches the embassy. Thanks so much for your continuing help to all of us.

Ah, that is "canned info" doesn't apply to the K-1 visa, for sure call the embassy when the file arrives, I hope that the embassy has some slots reserved for your fiancee... but I am only guessing on that. Just the same I will cross my fingers.
