Hi everyone! Earlier today I was looking at my closet and wondered how am I gonna fit my clothes, shoes and some other things in my luggage to go to the US when I move? I don't have my visa yet but I just got a text from the courier that it will be delivered today! (yay!)

Philippine Airlines allowed us 2 pieces of luggage each passenger and since I'm going to the US with my fiance, I have another luggage to use for my clothes. But what about the others? I'll be travelling with my wedding gown, so that will be my carry-on.

Did any of you used to any shipping companies to send your stuff to the US? Any cheap ones? Please I need your help. Thanks a lot! :)

Congrats!! :dancing::thumbs:

My wife packed two suitcases and called it good. She still has a ton of clothes at her home in the Phils, which makes for light packing when we travel back (ya right I am buying that one... :lol: )

Pack what you can now, and then when you go back to Phil to visit you can bring more back with you.

Wow! Congrats! I used 3 luggages, 1 carry-on and 1 handbag. I also dragged my gown with me! :) I had to pay $150 for that extra luggage with PAL though.

I have also looked for shipping companies and discussed their offered quotes, but they are all too pricey for me (about $600 for a balikbayan box). So I just decided to leave the clothes that I recently bought so I can have something when I go back home, and then, donated most of my stuff.

I suppose you can still ask around, but if you can drag more luggage, I guess paying the extra with PAL is worth it. Just remember that material things are always replaceable. I know it's not easy choosing which ones to leave and bring over here, but you just gotta do it.

By the way, keep in mind that 1 luggage should only weigh 23kg max each. They will ask you to remove extra contents on the spot and add them on your carry on. Just a gentle reminder.

I'm sure you're more excited traveling now than being stressed with the packing. Very very soon, welcome to America! Safe travels! :dancing:
