Hello All:

Silly question, but one my fiance and I keep arguing about (HA!)

While earlier on the form, you're asked to list for whom the affidavit is being submitted, but later on Question #10 you're asked if you've ever submitted a visa petition for someone to the USCIS. As of now, I have listed my fiance--the same person for whom I am submitting the affidavit as stated earlier in the form. My fiance says they mean petitions other than this one--but I said this isn't the petition itself, just an affidavit. I'm sure he's right, but we wanted to defer to the list at large: anyone know if we are supposed to fill in our own application to USCIS and date, or if we should list "none" if no other petition was filled out besides this one?

Cheers!

Either way, they will accept and approve it. Your fiancé is correct. The purpose is to find out how many others you might have to support financially. They want to know if you have other immigrants you have signed an Affidavit of Support for. In some cases petitioners might have brought over Mom and Dad as immigrants. Then they found a fiancé they also need to sponsor. And they have 3 kids to support. It helps the consulate know what kind of money to require. Is it just the USC and fiancé (2)? Or is it USC, fiancé, 3 kids, Mom and Dad immigrates (7)?
