Hi Everyone,

This my first post on the forum. I have a quick question and hoping someone may be able to share some insight please.

My Wife and I are currently going through the adjustment of status form (I-485). Wife = US Citizen ... Me = Permanent Resident Applicant...

My Wife and I are both recent graduates and she was fortunate enough to land a good job straight out of graduation; a Civil Project Engineer. My wife easily meets the requirements to sponsor me as the Affidavit of Support. However, because she has only been working since the beginning of January she has not filed any tax returns with this income as of yet. We were about to send everything off and wanted to double check that a letter from her employer, pay stubs and salary contract would be sufficient. Otherwise we would obviously have to get a joint sponsor who has all the required documentation ( recent years tax returns).

I have received some conflicting information - Some people saying the documents we have would be sufficient. Others saying it should be, but it might be the safer option to get a joint sponsor so there isn't a delay in the process.

Please let me know if anyone has done something similar to this situation!

Thanks

Nick
