Or not. I was extremely pleased with the offerings here in California -- I was paying for my own health insurance until Obamacare came along. I've now got coverage for myself AND my husband that is almost exactly the same as my prior plan (actually better in some respects) and costs $150/month LESS for TWO people than my prior costs for ONE person. I'm not disappointed at all. But I recognize that everyone will find different plans and different states may have worse offerings.

I can't even get into my states insurance exchange site now to see what the plans on offer were... LOL

If it is the same as the ordinary bronze for the insurance company I am looking at it will still help. Anything is better than none in my opinion.

I got the insurance denial letter today confirming the denial is due to not meeting immigration rules for the program ....

but when I look up the state code they quote as evidence of this it says

Section 2. Eligibility Standards to Enroll in a Qualified Health Plan. (1) An applicant shall be eligible to enroll in a QHP through the KHBE if the applicant:

(a) 1. Is a citizen or national of the United States;

2. Is a non-citizen who is lawfully present in the United States and is reasonably expected to become a citizen or national;

So far as I can tell LOL I think I fall into that category.

Was the letter from KHBE or Kentucky DAH? There are several options for appeal, including up to the US Government HHS, so I would encourage you to look at those.

Does the letter include information on how to appeal the determination?

So far I followed the process i was given by Kynect - go to the office and appeal there ... then we will see what comes of that.

I hope that the appeal comes back quickly and with good news, and they don't make you jump through too many hoops. Good luck.

WooHoo !

I can get health cover ! They sent me a letter today that allows me to enroll. Of course now the website is down until tomorrow .. sigh But at least with all your advice I managed to show I was eligible after all.

And I got my Kentucky drivers licence today - I put off the road test as long as I could but had to do it before the instructional licence expired. Parallel Parking not as bad as I thought on the 'wrong' side of the road LOL.
