Scheduled an interview online for CR-1 but NVC assigned an interview date

We had thought that we needed to schedule an appointment for the interview online but we received a letter from NVC with an interview date. I just cancelled the one we had online. Will that affect the schedule appointed by the NVC? What I mean by that is, will it also cancel the NVC interview date?

For CR/IR it is normal for NVC to schedule the appointment. I am not even sure how did you manage to schedule it yourself. May be it was for K-1 visa or some other non-immigrant. Anyway, I would call the embassy IV Unit and talk to them.

They actually had a choice on the website as to what type of visa you are applying for. We chose CR-1 and was able to proceed with getting an appointment scheduled. Hopefully it doesn't affect our current appointment. Thanks.
