Proof that the US citizen parent lived in the U.S. long enough

Hi,

I am a US citizen and have an out of wedlock child with an alien overseas. I would now like to apply for my child's consular report of birth abroad. To do so I need proof that I have lived in the US long enough. As an Army brat I have lived in the US and overseas as a dependent long enough before my 14th birthday.

My parents divorced before I was 14 and I stayed overseas with my mother. My mother however remarried an Armed Forces member stationed overseas before my 18^th birthday thus making me his dependent. I had the same privileges (ID card) as with my father and we lived overseas in the same household for at least four years.

Can someone tell me if INA301(g) applies to me after my mother remarried? If it does not, please state why not and where I can find this.

Yes I did. But this was all before my 14th birthday.

I am trying to understand why my proof of physical presence does not apply. Before I was 14, I was physically in the USA for more than three years. This proof was accepted. After I was 14 I spent time abroad as the dependent of my stepfathers houshold who served in the US Army. This time is not accepted. I can’t find anything that excludes stepchildren.

“Additionally, time spent abroad by the U.S. citizen parent while the U.S. citizen parent was the unmarried son or daughter and a member of the household of a person who meets any of the three conditions listed above can also be counted.”

Why does this not apply to me? I underlined person because my stepfather should be such a person.
