Documents/Evidences for I-130 ( minor / stepchild )

Hi everyone,

I want to ask information to those who were successful in filing for I-130 for minor children. My husband was the petitioner for my son. What documents/evidences were asked before and during the interview? Do they really interview minors? All insight are highly appreciated.

What process are we expecting after receiving I-797? Any other fees that needs to be paid?

Fees on NVC stage (this is after approval) includes Affidavit of Support Fee ($88) & Immigrant Visa Fee ($230).

Then, you get to prepare the documents needed for interview, Click the link below (Just get documents needed for your Minor child.

1. Do we have to send our certified copy of marriage certificate? divorce document? My annulment documents? ( I know we sent a copy of this document when we sent the I-130. I just want to know if he will be asked to present this documents during the interview.

2. NBI Clearance. Does he need one since he is a minor?

#1. Documents required are pertaining to the beneficiary now (your son), So, I don't think, your marriage certificate , divorce document, your annulment are needed again. The requirements, you see on the link is now for your son, whichever is applicable for him (age appropriate)

#2. No NBI Clearance needed for minors less than 16 yrs old.
