hello all,

thank you for your help thus far! just one question- my NOA2 has an expiration date of 12/20/13, which has obviously passed. for my fiance's interview in london on february 27, can i just send him a letter that i've signed stating I still want to marry him? or does this need to be notarized?

thank you so much!

They do ask for it to be notarized. My fiancé needed to do this too, it was easy enough, he just went to his closest UPS store with photographic ID and signed the letter in front of the notary :) should be easy enough to find your closest notary with a quick Google search.

Your bank should do it for free. If she goes in tomorrow, gets it notarized before midday, sends it off normal post you would get it the next week. My other half lives in Montana, and sent it off first class mail on the Monday, and I got it on Saturday.

UPS also do it for a small charge. It is just a stupid little stamp, but better safe than sorry.

PS, do not sign and date it until the notary says so, otherwise they cant do it.

I honestly didn't even know what a notary was until I watched Pain and Gain.

K1 AOS:

May 22nd: Sent away AOS package Day 1

June 16th: Successful Biometrics. Day 24

Does the letter have to be specific and/or addressed to the embassy or is it pretty much a sentence stating the intent to marry?
