So after reading many posts on VJ and other places without really getting an answer about the ECC for a child, here is my experience.

You cannot process an ECC without a ticket with the childs name and the parent on it so to do so for your spouse who is getting a visa you need to wait...get used to it. So I booked a flight the night before and printed out the itinerary and went to the Bureau of Immigration. I did not know until recently that there is a FINE for your USA citizen Philippine born child, they are a Philippine citizen but apparently not so unless you get them a Philippine passport. So my child, under 2 years and only having a CRBA and US passport has to comply with the same rules as say a fat old foreign tourist who has lapsed on his updating and paying his fees due to being in a drunken stupor. So my child had to get an ACR card, pay all the expedite (#######) fees and also a monthly fine for not complying with Philippine immigration rules. I had a wad of money in my pocket luckily so I paid the fees in order to get the out of this ASAP. It takes 72 hours so they say to get the clearance, I have gotten mine in the past in 45 min from entering the door so why is this any different? So off I will go on Monday to hopefully get the clearance. So Shell corporation is having an ECO challenge and blocking Roxas Blvd, very ECO thing to do as all the traffic is rerouted to other roads, not more fun.

So having lived here myself for multiple years and seeing the BS to go through and looking back I would have picked somewhere else to live, just my retrospective view.

The Filipino citizens as seeing what the CFO and all does to make their lives as miserable as possible, is not even close to being free. As an American and if I want to jump on a plane and go to the most dangerous place in the world to settle I would not even be asked why I am traveling or if I will come back because...we have the freedom to roam about the world, barring a few places but it's our business.

Will I come back, who knows but I will be gone with my family in a few days time.

Good luck to all!

I know the feels. I'm extremely annoyed at all the processing, procedures and requirements needed just to LEAVE the country. Makes you want to haul a$s even faster. Good for you for getting everything done!

So what documents did you need to get your wife and son legally able to leave to country? Can you make a list? It would be very helpful for a lot of people here.
