Hello,

I am the petitioner for my husband who is Georgian (currently living in Georgia). We are in the NVC stage and I have questions about the I-864:

1) I am a US citizen and have retained my permanent residence at my parents' house in the U.S. However, I am currently getting a Master's degree in Belgium. The I-864 instructions state that I must prove that I "intend in good faith to reestablish [my] domicile in the United States no later than the date of the intending immigrant's admission". They suggest providing proof of a job offer or lease, etc. I will be moving back to my parents' house before my husband comes, but I do not have any of the types of proof they are asking for. Has anyone else encountered this? What other forms of proof could I provide?

2) For the last 2 years I was living in (Republic of) Georgia, working as a volunteer and in jobs that paid so little that I was not required to file taxes in the U.S. This year I am a student, so I also have no income. My parents will be filing as joint sponsors, and have the necessary means of support, but I am wondering what sort of proof I will need to provide as the petitioner, given that I have not filed taxes, nor do I have employment records for the past few years.

Thanks very much for any information!
