Hello!

Im Jennie, I'm an American, and my fiancé is English!

We met online over 4 years ago and we have spent the last year and a half traveling back and forth visiting each other. While I love traveling, it's really about time we were together forever!! Our original plan was for me to move to England, but that is not possible at this time, so he will be joining me here in Indiana!

I had some questions about the K-1 visa process.

So the first thing for me to do is fill out the I-129f, correct?

Then do I apply for the visa? Or do I fill out the affidavit of support before that?

Can joint savings be used along with my salary?

I make just over 20K a year.

At what point will the foreign fiancé go for the interview, and where is it conducted?

Sorry for so many questions!

Thank you!

Jennie

You file the petition, your fiance applies for the visa in England. The affidavit of support is filed at the interview at the consulate in London. I believe 20k is enough without having to use your savings.

Your fiance will go to the interview after your petition is approved by USCIS, you're assigned a case number by the State Department, he has applied for the Visa online and attended/passed a medical.
