Hello greetings,

I guess my Fiancee and I are at the end of a stressfull and very taxing process(I hope). We are very much in love and just want to be together.

We originally scheduled interview for early November after approval letter was recieved. She flew in to Manila from Bohol. Well in a matter of days the typhoon hit and the interview went from scheduling from 1 week in advance to a 2 month wait (We went online and scheduled for 21 of January 2014).That was the nearest available opening. At the same time, we were told by both embassy and st.lukes, that medical was after interview, contrary to what i have seen all over the internet and even on the embassys website. It made things really confusing.

So now its January and we have been preparing for interview and just out of curiosity, I thought I would call St. Lukes to see what the story is now about Medical. Well it changed , they told us it should be before interview. Ok..were scratching our heads? So we did medical last friday on 1/10/14. She spent entire day in St. Lukes, and she was given papers for sputum examination, because they saw spot on one of here lungs. She was just recovering from a chest cold..I might add.

I have 2 questions; what is the test for( what are they trying to screen for) and how long is the wait for negative results verses positive results? I have been doing research online and see its for bacterial infections ranging from the common flu to pneumonia. She scheduled to go back for the 15, 16 and 17th of January for these tests. Can someone give me some information on what may be next in terms of our wait to be reunited? Thank you in advance.

The culture is for TB. Looks like you are going to have an additional two month wait for the culture results.

As for the medical, the embassy instructions letter states to do the medical about a week before the interview date. It is good that you got a head start on it considering your situation.
