I've been looking all over the state departments website for information about those who are living overseas and will be the only sponsor for my wife specific to savings saved inside the USA since my job in China makes less than the required amount. Places on the web tell me that I would need to have 3 years of savings in the bank that is over the 125% poverty line from this page. But I need to find that page on the states site. Does anyone know where that is? I 'm not sure why I'm having difficulty in it. Thanks for any help.

I believe you are talking about the poverty guidelines of affidavit of support. Here is a link where you can find it. Its usually at the USCIS website.

Take a look at the I-864 instruction PDF, too. Take careful note of the domicile requirements.

It's not 3 years savings, either. It would be 3 times the difference you lack in income (i.e. on a household size of 2, you'd need 3x the 125% amount if you have $0 US available income - around $60000).

Have you been filing your US tax returns? They'll be needed.

Probably read this: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3183.html
