Peezey,

You have proven to be an un-informed and biased.

Another hilarious statement. This is an Archie Bunker-ism. Because you say it is so, it is so. So tell me, any sources on how it is you've proven I'm uninformed and biased?

How can one claim God cares to judge a fornicator over judging a lying, conniving bully? I guess you would if you are the lying, conniving bully.

Just a few more dead palestinians so what? whether they are civilians or innocent people, to the eyes of the world they are terrorists, so what difference does it make, meaningless apologies, meaningless restrain call, I still stand by what I said earlier, Some folks here misquoted my written when I said the overall policy is to eliminate all the palestinian, I never said all of them wish the same but their leaders do think so/

Bush urges restraint after Israel shells Gaza

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush on Wednesday urged restraint after Israeli artillery shells killed 18 Palestinian civilians in Gaza, and pressed for a swift completion of Israel's investigation into the attack.

Bush, who usually refrains from criticizing military actions by U.S. ally Israel, stopped short of reprimanding the Jewish state, whose prime minister, Ehud Olmert, is due to meet him in Washington on Monday.

"The United States is deeply saddened by the injuries and loss of life in Gaza today," Bush said in a statement. "We have seen the Israeli government's apology and understand an investigation has begun."

"We hope it will be completed quickly and that appropriate steps will be taken to avoid a repetition of this tragic incident. We call on all parties to act with care and restraint so as to avoid any harm to innocent civilians

Israel gives final approval to new West Bank settlement for ex-Gaza families

JERUSALEM (AP) - Israel has approved the building of a new settlement in the northern West Bank to house the former Gaza settlers, officials said Tuesday, breaking a promise to the United States to halt settlement construction.

Construction of Maskiot began months ago. But the project only received final approval from the Defence Ministry last week, said Dubi Tal, head of the Jordan Valley regional council.

The new settlement will house 23 families evacuated from the Gaza Strip last year and will eventually house 100 families, Tal said.

"I estimate that within two or three weeks the foundations for temporary housing will begin," he said.

Saeb Erekat, an aide to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, condemned the construction and urged the government to revoke its authorization, saying it violated the new spirit of co-operation inaugurated by a meeting Saturday between Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.

"What message are they trying to send?" Erekat said.

Olmert has signalled in recent weeks that he is ready to make broad territorial concessions to the Palestinians under a final peace settlement. But he has also said he wants Israel to retain large settlement blocs. The Palestinians claim all of the West Bank, captured by Israel in the 1967 Middle East war, as part of a future independent state.

Under the phased, U.S.-backed "road map" peace plan, Israel committed to freeze all settlement expansion, while Palestinians pledged to crack down on militants. Neither side has followed through.

Last weekend's Olmert-Abbas summit sought to build on momentum from an Israeli ceasefire with the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, which took effect last month.

Despite the truce, Gaza militants launched seven homemade rockets into Israel on Tuesday. One hit a street in the town of Sderot after nightfall, seriously wounding two 13-year-old boys, the rescue service and Israel TV reported. Another exploded near the Israeli city of Ashkelon. Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for all the attacks.

The militants have launched about 60 rockets since the truce was declared, and Israeli officials have warned that their patience with the attacks was wearing thin.

Meanwhile, Israeli troops shot and seriously injured a Palestinian man near the fence separating Israel and Gaza.

Palestinian officials said the man was a farmer working near the fence in northern Gaza. The army said troops identified two Palestinians sabotaging part of the fence. When they refused orders to leave and ignored warning shots, the soldiers shot one of them in the legs.

In an effort to push forward with the peace efforts, Olmert and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, a key mediator between Israel and the Palestinians, will meet next week in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheik, an Israeli government official said.

Egypt has played a major role in mediating between Israel and the Palestinians, and has been trying to negotiate the release of an Israeli soldier captured by militants linked to Hamas, the militant group that controls the Palestinian parliament and cabinet and is a rival to Abbas' Fatah

Nikita2Charles,

Israeli MPs -- including Israeli Arab (aka "Palestinian") MPs -- are voted into the Knesset by the people.

The idea of an ongoing Israeli conspiracy to eliminate the Palestinians is no less absurd than the idea

of an international Jewish conspiracy to take over the world.
