Hi everybody

I would like to get some experts advice on two things related the filling of I485. I'm currently on F1 visa, haven’t been out of status. I'm planning to adjust status as I have been selected by DV2014 program.

(1) My I-94 does not indicate expiration date and it sates "DS". In I-485 it ask the expiration date of my status and it only accept numbers and I cant say "duration of status". How should I answer to this? My I-20 expires in 8-15-2015 and my visa expires in 2018.

(2) When I submit my I-485 is it a good idea to attach a copy of my I-20 as well. In their instruction sheet, USCIS has not asked to attach it though.

I would highly appreciate your response on this.

1) I just wrote in D/S for my expiration date

2) I didn't include a copy of my i-20

Thanks mngoalie,

I'm just curious, I see a time line under your reply. Is it the actual time line of you AOS? If so it looks like they process it quite fast.

Thanks

That is the actual timeline for our AOS. It would've been about a month faster if we would've had our long form birth certificate in hand.. Times do vary depending on how busy your local office is. I haven't seen any major reports about San Antonio being backed up so you should be good.

@Cottonb: But don't forget your AOS is different than his so the timeline will not reflect yours. You are going through the DV lottery system! So I think yours will take longer, your number has to become current etc. Anyway, good luck! Just thought I'd remind you before you follow his timeline.
