My husband is a former J-1 exchange visitor and he was subject to INA 212(e) home residency requirement.

He returned to India at the end of his apprenticeship in 2009. He lived abroad for 11 months in Thailand but afterwards returned to India again. According to my understanding, his requirement was fulfilled last year in 2012.

Has anyone who was a former exhange visitor needed to prove during their CR-1 interview that their 2 year residency requirement was fulfilled? Will passport stamps be enough to prove that he has been residing in India?

I am the petitioner.
