I had the same question about a co-sponser 2 days ago and an Attorney told me the Co- sponser and the beneficiary only were the requirements not me as well. And that came to around 26K a year for the current poverty guidlines for both co and ben.

Hope that helps

the cosponsor has to have enough for themself, beneficiary, and any dependents they may already have.

You the petitioner, will be the first sponsor, you have to show them you make some kind of money, even if it is not enough, that is why you get the co-sponsor. They will see that you can take care of yourself, if you are working, you should not need a co-sponsor(for your ownself)

hope my words are not confusing. Good luck

The Co-sponsor has to make enough to support his household, himself and the beneficiary.

mi_illusion_st,

Depends - is the petitioner a dependent of the proposed sponsor? (For example, a college student or recent graduate who is still being claimed as a dependent on Mom and Dad's income tax returns, where student is the petitioner and Dad is going to be the sponsor.)

Yodrak

Does the co_sponsor have to make enough for him/herself and the beneficiary or enough for him/herself the beneficiary and the petitioner?
