I have just moved to NYC and I am yet to find an apartment. I did some research and it looks like the 7-8 months is the norm of N400 processing time for the Manhattan, Federal Plaza office. On the other hand Queens Field Office for example seems to be pretty good with its 4 month average this year. Is this still the case?

Unfortunately that 4-month is pretty important for me, I can solely base my apartment location on this alone. I have been looking at Astoria lately for this reason. I was hopping Roosevelt Island would be a possible choice as well but RI is handled by the Manhattan field office :(

Uh-oh now I will need to extend my search :D My office is in midtown-east so Astoria was a nearby choice that made sense. I will look into Brooklyn as well, thanks for the heads up. Now if I knew which other zip codes were in the Queens Field office territory :D
