Hey guys, so I have a bit of a problem with my N-400, and I have no idea what to do.

So I got my interview done back in August 11th in MD, but I had to move to NJ because of my family, which basically reset the whole verification process. They told me that my forms were sent to the NJ office and that I have to interview again.

This past Wednesday, 3 months after my first interview, I got a letter saying that my new interview date at the NJ office is going to be December 11th. Being a college freshman at UNC with finals in the next two weeks, this is a bit of a problem for me. I can't possibly drive up there that day, nor am I willing to shell out 500 bucks for quick flight there and back just to redo an interview that I've already done.

I called in the USCIS, and they were pretty not understanding of my situation (they kept reading from their "script" thing without actually paying attention to what I said) and filed a rescheduling notice to the NJ office, but they say to allow 15 DAYS before they let me know about the situation. I told them that my interview is coming up in less than 15 days, but they ignored what I said and basically repeated the script thing, saying that they can't help me.

I am pretty pissed off, and I don't know what do.

Help would be much appreciated

Your next bet is to talk to your professors see if you can take them earlier or later. College professors are always willing to help in cases like that. I remember I was able to get my assignments & Tests deferred by 2 weeks to go to my sisters wedding out of the country so you can always explain the situation with them and see what they can do to help you. I do hope that you are able to work it out.

So I guess I have to shell out money for the flight?

And I already talked to my professor about it, he said that I can't change the exam date
