My boyfriend currently has a Haitian visitor visa, we want to apply for a K-1 visa. How do we begin the process? He is currently staying in the Dominican Republic can we go through Dominican Republic to apply or does it have to be through Haiti? If we have to go through Haiti would I have to go to the Haitian Embassy for an interview with him or can he go himself?

To begin, follow this guide for filing the I-129F petition > http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

If he is legally residing in the DR, then he will be able to interview there. It is my understanding that the DR requires the USC petitioner to be present for the interview. I do not know if it is the same for Haiti. You would have to do some research. There are reviews posted here on VJ for each of the consulates that might help with that > http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/
