Hi,

Anyone can tell me please, our I-129f Package was sent this 10th December while my fiance Mike was in the Philippines for his 2nd trip to visit me, we hired a lawyer to take care of the processing and we are not sure what would be the next step, would it be to get the receipt number or something or the NOA? Will he be informed directly by the Service Center or the Law Office will forward the notification to him without having him to call them to ask about it? I looked over the K-1 Visa Flowchart and it says there next would be the NOA, but whats the receipt number for?

Thanks to anyone who would help us about this.

He should be mailed his NOA1 - I didn't use a lawyer so I have no idea if they'd send it to them or directly to your fiance.

If he wrote a check for the petition fee, he can see if that check was cashed and get the case number off the back of it (and then track the case online).

Usually an attorney will forward any notifications they receive on your behalf. The next one commonly referred to as NOA1 will be sent within two to three weeks of mailing your application. That notice will have your case number as assigned by the service center working on it.

My advice is to relax, enjoy your time together and wait until after the holidays to start watching for the touches and RFE's. Have fun together.
