Hi everyone! This is my first time posting, thanks in advance for helping out...

Here is my Situation. I am a US citizen and trying to bring my wife here in US. We both filed I-130 Form. I was so excited that My wife is finally going to take her interview. Now on NOVEMBER 04, 2013 my wife had an interview in Manila Embassy. The Consulate was focusing and asking about my Affidavit of Support (AOS). After her Interview, they gave a White Form with instructions. The White Form said that she need to PASS JOINT SPONSORS because my Affidavit Of Support was below the Poverty Rate. I was really shock and disappointed because I thought I met the requirements of 125% or more above the poverty line that their asking me. I also thought that the USCIS and NVC already reviewed my AOS and p-assed it. When I speak to my wife, my wife mentioned the Consulate took her Passport and Never return it back. I was worried and couldn't stop thinking what is the reason they took it.

In the next morning, I asked my mother to Joint account with me. We both ORGANIZED I-864 with all Authenticated document and Original Signature. After organizing and printing all the requirement for AOS Again. I used FedEx express to send the package ASAP. My wife received the package on November 11, 2013. She send the Join Sponsors Package to 2GO Courier on November 11, 2013 and received by the Manila Embassy on November 12, 2013. Now were just waiting

HERE ARE MY QUESTION:

1. How long will it take for MANILA EMBASSY to process AOS Joint Account?

2. The Consulate took her Passport After her interview. Never return it back. Is this mean She Got denied?

3. How will she get her Passport Back?

4. Has anyone here dealt with a potential joint sponsor?

Thank you for reading this

If it is just your wife and yourself your income needed to meet the I-864P poverty guidelines for 2, which is $19,387 (unless you live in one of those unique states ;) ) The CO keeping your wife's passport is a good thing.

Once USEM has your co-sponsor information it could take another week or two for things to get reviewed and processed. You can keep track on the CEAC website.

she wasn't denied, she was just refused until they get a joint-sponsor and hand in the proper documents. some people in my visa group reported waiting around 3 weeks for it to be reviewed. but yeah, them keeping the passport and giving you a chance to submit co-sponsor papers is a good thing. if she doesn't meet that requirement and the petition expires i think they mail your documents, including the passport, back to your wife.. but i know you got this covered good.gif best of luck to you!

income needs to be at least 125%. Assets needs to be at 5 TIMES the shortage. But the HARD reality is that USEM doesn't look at assets much, they want to see the income, which is why the wanted a co-sponsor.

My "lawyer" told me not to share information with folks and help them out so I showed him the ocean... he got the hint. ;)
