go ahead and change it, your ID, college records, social security... can be changed once you get the court order of the name change. You won't have no problem. Just tick the box for the name change and you should be fine. Good luck. Oh and it's no trouble to change your name to your maiden name through naturalization. Good luck.

I'm going to apply for citizenship soon and I'm currently in college. I divorced my husband. Should I get my last name changed back to my maiden name? I'm wondering if anyone has the same issue?

Curious... how long were you married?
